What to Do Right Now While Our Technician Is En Route
Follow these immediate safety steps to minimize flooding and property damage:
Shut Off Your Main Water Valve Immediately
Locate your home's main water shutoff valve (usually along the front exterior wall near hose bib, in the garage, or near the street water meter) and turn it clockwise (or perpendicular to pipe for ball valves) to stop pressurized flooding.
Turn Off the Water Heater Power or Gas Supply
If you shut off main water, turn your water heater gas valve to "PILOT" or switch off its dedicated electrical circuit breaker to prevent heating elements or tanks from burning out while empty.
Avoid Standing Water Near Electrical Outlets
Never step into standing water if submerged extension cords, appliances, or outlets are nearby. Shut off power at the main electrical panel if safe to do so.
